Soup From Madura Island

Ingredients

  • 6 Large Macadamia Nuts
  • 3 Medium Shallot -- thinly sliced
  • 2 Cloves Garlic -- thinly sliced
  • Salt And Pepper -- to taste
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1/2 Inch Ginger Root -- grated
  • 6 Cups Water
  • 1 Pound Beef -- cubed
  • 1 Teaspoon Lemongrass
  • Lemon Slices
  • 2 Tablespoons Raw Rice
  • 2 Large Hard-Boiled Egg -- sliced
Directions
  1. In food processor, chop fine the nuts, shallots, garlic, salt, pepper, turmeric, and ginger to form a paste.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the paste with water, beef, lemongrass and 1 slice lemon.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. In food processor, crush rice to a coarse consistency.
  5. Add to beef mixture.
  6. Cook, over low heat, covered, for 2 hours.
  7. Garnish with egg and lemon slices.
