Satay Garo Manis
Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon Cumin
- 1 Tablespoon Ground Coriander
- 5 Large Shallot -- thinly sliced
- 6 Cloves Garlic -- finely chopped
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 2 Pounds Boneless Beef -- cubed
- 2 Tablespoons Lime Juice
- 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 2/3 Cup Dry Roasted Peanuts -- chopped
- 1 Tablespoon Tamarind Paste -- dissolved in
- 1/4 Cup Water
- 2 Cups Water
- 2 Tablespoons Kecap Manis
- In a food processor, blend the cumin, coriander, shallots, garlic and salt to form a paste.
- Mix the beef and lime juice in separate bowl and let stand for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in skillet, add paste and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
- Add peanuts and cook for 1 minute.
- Add beef and liquid. Cook 10 minutes.
- Add tamarind liquid, water and kecap manis.
- Cook, covered over moderate heat for 45 minutes or until liquid has evaporated and a thick sauce remains.
- Serve over rice.
